Yannick started the keynote with a short introduction to the concept of Free Software and its origins, focusing on the advantages of working with free software for the public and private sectors as well as personally.

He went on encouraging the students explaining his personal experience as the leader of several free software projects, and finalized focusing on his work on Chamilo, explaining its origins, philosophy and the work organized  by the Chamilo Association.

"Chamilo, is an LMS, Learning Management System, which manages courses, students, teachers, course cycles, carreers, social networks and interconnexion with other systems. In only 6 months, it has gathered more than 20 000 users on its free campus and people choose it because it is easy to use, lightweight, intuitive, organized and with a strong community presence", he added.
